Case Study – Cooper Carry Offices in NYC
The NYC design offices of Cooper Carry HQ’d in Atlanta, GA
Eight to nine unique compositions to illustrate the office space with both agency models and office employees.
The agency models were scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a Saturday.
To best utilize the hired talent, a firm plan was needed to maximize the use of the agency models. We arrived at the location mid-afternoon the Thursday prior to the Saturday shoot to take a series of handheld test photos of the space. After the test photos were processed, they were compiled into a PDF and the client selected 9 compositions. On Friday, we proceeded to set up and shoot four of the selected compositions using the employees from the office. The areas to be photographed on Saturday with the agency models were prepared as well.
We arrived at 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning to begin setting up and lighting the first shot. The models arrived between 9:30 and 10 a.m. Ironically the two older/mature models were on time, arriving at 930a.m., the 20 something male and the female models were fashionably late! After they changed into appropriate attire, we placed them into the first set, proceeded to reposition the models, props, and finalized the lighting. It took several attempts to get the ideal look, repositioning the models as well as swapping them in and out until the idea look was achieved. The rest of the day flowed relatively smoothly with a mind to the time. I allocated from 1.25 up to 2 hours per composition depending on the complexity of each. The wrap up and packing of 15 cases of equipment was accomplished by 7 p.m.
Before and After
See how Ed Massery creatively turned one of the office shots into a compelling visual that showcases the space’s amazing reception area and conference room.
